By Donna Wilson
Having spent most of my adult life abroad, often in South America, my work is influenced by other cultures. I prefer to create pieces with archeological, symbolic or mythic significance. Much of my work alludes to the connections we have with one another, with other cultures and with other eras.

Each work is one-of-a-kind in series; in this way I can fully explore an idea or technique using the same theme. My pins and pendants are fabricated from sheet sterling or gold and I work with several lapidary artists to get the shapes and colors of stones needed. I will often let a stone determine the shape and direction of the piece of jewelry; I think each stone has a story to tell. I do all of the work in each piece of jewelry in my home studio.

I create jewelry in silver or in gold using jaspers, lapis and other stones combined with semi-precious stones and some elements which I cast.
